- Pasta – Use any pasta you like, such as penne, angel hair pasta, or spaghetti.
- Herbs – Basil is an excellent alternative to Italian parsley.
- Cheese – Any hard cheese, such as Asiago, Parmesan, or Romano, can be used to finish the dish.
- Serrano peppers – Add a Serrano pepper to the sauce to make it spicy. If you don’t have Serranos, 14 teaspoons of crushed red pepper flakes would suffice.
Steps for preparation of Lion’s Mane Mushroom Recipe
STEP 1: In a saucepan, pour the olive oil. Cover the pot with the lid and add the sliced tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes on low heat.
STEP 2: In the meantime, prepare the pasta according to the package recommendations.
STEP 3: Toss in a Serrano pepper and cook for a minute with the tomatoes. Season the tomatoes with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper before pouring the liquid over them. Cover and cook the sauce for another 5 minutes on low heat.
STEP 4: Using an immersion blender, pour cream into the pot and blend until smooth (or somewhat lumpy).
STEP 5: Tear the Lion’s Mane Mushroom into little pieces using your hands. In a separate skillet, melt butter and sauté for a few minutes. In a separate bowl, combine the sautéed mushrooms and the sauce.
STEP 6: Drain the pasta and stir it into the sauce to incorporate everything. Before serving, plate the Lion’s Mane Mushroom Pasta and top with shaved Asiago cheese and minced Italian parsley.
